KI Entertainment is a young, fast growing Distribution Company established in 1997 under the management of Alan Kennedy (Managing Director).
Managing Director - Alan Newman Kennedy
Alan Kennedy, aged 55 years, has been actively involved in many aspects of Christian product distribution, especially in music. At the age of 18 Alan was the local Gospel Concert promoter in Geelong, Victoria working with artists such as Barry McGuire, Chuck Girard, Jamie Owens-Collins, Randy Matthews, Larry Norman, Noel Paul Stookey, Continentals, Wings of Light and many more.
Alan studied Woolclassing at the Gordon Institute of Technology in Geelong, graduating in 1974. He actively worked as a free-lance Woolclasser and, in the off season, was a professional photographer in his own business.
In 1976 Alan took a position as Area Sales Representative for Valentine Publishing Company (now Sands). During 1978 he worked part time as the Youth Pastor/Music Director of Belmont Crusade Centre, Geelong and also for Rhema Records in Sydney. In the latter part of 1978 Alan and his family moved to Sydney to take on the role of National Sales Manager for Rhema Records. During this time Alan travelled extensively throughout Australia, also visiting the USA, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
In 1982 Alan moved back to Geelong, Rhema Records ceased operations, and Christian Marketing (now CMC) commenced operations as representative for Scripture in Song and Maranatha Music. Alan acted as General Manager from 1982 to August 1994 when the company was restructured. From September 1994 until May 1997 Alan fulfilled the role of Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing.
During this 15 year period Alan and the CMC team built CMC to be one of the top Christian distribution companies in Australasia. Alan has arranged many tours and seminars nationally such as Amy Grant and Band "Straight Ahead" and "Unguarded" tours. He has extensive experience in most aspects of the industry.
Alan is married (34 years) to Rosalie and has 3 sons Matthew (31) and daughter-in-law Deanna and Indigo 18 months, Jarrod (28) and daughter-in-law Rachel, and David (25) and daughter-in-law Ingrid.
To this day Alan spends many weeks "on the road" doing sales in stores across New Zealand, Australia and Singapore as well as attending the annual GMA and ICRS (CBA) Conferences in the USA. He also visits many companies represented at their head offices throughout the USA, UK and beyond.
Personal Assistant to MD - Anne Polley
Anne joined KIE in 2005 for a short period and then unfortunately moved to Melbourne due to her husband’s work. She came back in 2009 and brings many years’ experience and administration skills.
Sales Representative/Customer Service - Kim Gray
Kim joined KIE in November 1999 and worked as Receptionist and Customer Service Officer until October 2000 when she moved into the joint sales/customer service role. Kim comes to KI with a wealth of experience having been involved as the music buyer for Coffs Christian Book Shop for over 10 years.
Order Entry/Customer Service - Ann Walsh
Ann joined us in 2008 to cover Order Entry/Customer Service and assist Kim. She is a Pastor’s wife supporting her husband in growing their local church and therefore has many people skills.
Office Manager/IT Manager - Phillip Driver
Phil joined KIE in September 1998 after working for 10 years as a Pastor of a Baptist Church following time spent working as a missionary in Bangladesh. Married to Judy for 41 years, they have 3 adult children.
Receptionist/Assistant to the Office Manager - Kerrie Sherriff
Kerrie joined KIE in April 2004 and carries out many office duties including receptionist, processing domestic and overseas orders, liaising with freight forwarders and our suppliers and assisting the Office Manager.
Royalty Administration - Rosalie Kennedy
Rosalie is married to the Managing Director and has worked with KIE for 10 years in many areas such as reception, order entry, customer service and clerical assistant to the accountant. Her primary function is the entering and management of the royalties.
Accountant - Peter Young
Peter has been with KIE for 5 years. Peter is experienced in all aspects of accounting, cash flow forecasting, and prepares the company accounts and operating budgets. Peter brings a wealth of experience in all administration and credit control areas having worked for many years in the corporate environment.
KI Entertainment Agency/Management - Matthew Kennedy
Matthew joined us in 2007 on a part time basis to develop our "Artist Management Division" for bands. He also assists in maintaining our website and in the warehouse on an ‘as needed’ basis.
Warehouse
Claude has been with us for some time and has many years’ experience in all aspects of warehousing and stock control. Additional contract staff are used on a daily basis.
